Reading this, now with the knowledge that Nora is planning a Kevin prequel and sequel, she has such a solid foundation and room to write a Kerejean endgame 🤯❗️.

I didn't have firm thoughts about who would be Kevin's endgame (I'd be happy wherever Nora decided to go), but the framework is literally all there!

She planted the seed with the Cody/Pat/Ananya (potential) throuple. Kevin & Jean's (unrequited?) relationship is already well established in the Nest, which the prequel would cover. Jean's crush on Jeremy began then, too. @embraceweird's post outlines how much Nora already has to work with to establish a foundation of deep friendship and respect between Kevin and Jeremy during the prequel.

Everything we have seen so far in TSC and TGR could absolutely lead us to a Kerejean endgame in TQG!

Thinking about how much receiving that praise must have meant to Jeremy. How one of the biggest icons of the sport recognized and respected a Jeremy shrouded in scandal. How a friendship was forged despite living 2000 miles apart.

Well, not quite - but I’d love it if Twilight picks up on Hemlock being an assassin before his own wife (love makes you blind after all)

And then he starts like holding Yor’s hand everywhere they go or something lollll but it just looks like jealousy to everyone else!?

Of course, I’m fully expecting some sort of twist - maybe Hemlock actually really respects Yor and even loves her, but is pissed that she’s lowered herself to being a housewife. With that in mind, Loid might (correctly) assume Hemlock is jealous of him and get protective over his position in Yor’s life from that angle as well…

Either way, ‘jealous Loid’ odds are looking up!!

As far as I can find, Soren has only cried twice in the entire six seasons of The Dragon Prince.

Once in Seasons Two, after he's paralyzed by the dragon.

"I was confused, and I didn’t want to do it, but I do want Dad to love me, and be proud of me."

And once in Season Six, when Viren is apologizing to him for all the hurt he's caused.

"Somehow you found the right path in spite of everything I've done. I'm so proud of you."

🐠: Consensus says no. We were supposed to sympathize with Ba Wu and the writing was just bad and the characters not balanced. I guess I will concede and accept that they didn't intentionally set out to make me dislike Ba Wu.

I am ready for my brain to move on, but it just wouldn't. I think it's the way I couldn't root for them that is fueling my inability to let this go. I'm just not used to that and I am trying to understand. I love messy, flawed human characters and will do tons of mental gymnastics to put myself in their shoes. And I did do this, and understand Ba Wu, but it wasn't enough for me to get over my dislike. But usually when I am mad at a character I am yelling "fix it now!" This time, I was yelling "you can do better!" and wanted Ji Hun to run away. This difference really threw me and I still want to believe I was supposed to dislike him.

I think I am starting to realize that it's less about Ba Wu (I've forgiven characters for much worse), and probably more about how I felt about Ji Hun. Ji Hun was also an imperfect human, but he was trying really hard and was completely dismissed and misunderstood. My heart broke for him and something about his character/story seriously triggered my mom mode. I felt protective of him and unforgiving of people that hurt him in the same way I often am towards people that hurt my children. I am toxically forgiving when it come to people that hurt me because I try too hard to understand their perspective. But I am much less understanding when my kids are involved.

I did come around in the end, but mostly because I can believe Ba Wu will do better and it was what Ji Hun wanted. I still want acknowledgement and an apology from Ba Wu for being such a terrible friend. I wanted Ba Wu to see how much he had hurt Ji Hun and let that crush him. But it was enough to see that Ba Wu was a much better person when he wasn't emotionally exhausted.

And I did like this series (we might be the only ones 🤣). I really enjoyed the way it showed different characters experiencing unrequited love. I do feel Ba Wu's character was showing us the darker side of what can happen when we ignore our emotional needs and let things fester because we did see a different, lighter Ba Wu when he was in the moment and not living in his pain. I liked the way they went back to start over as best they could. I just wish we could get a bonus episode like Business As Usual that showed us their growth as a couple.

Thanks to everyone that has helped me process! I hope my brain will finally move on because even if I liked this series, I am seriously over thinking about it.

Were we supposed to hate Ba Wu?

We keep thinking about how unlikeable Ba Wu was as a character and we are pretty convinced that was the entire point.

Yes, both boys hid their feelings, and both lied and made questionable choices. But while the series gave us lots of reasons to sympathize with Ji Hun (showing us how he was always worrying about Ba Wu or trying to make him happy, being completely misunderstood by everyone, Ba Wu refusing to believe his words and ignoring his direct attempts to communicate), it did VERY LITTLE to try and make us like Ba Wu. In fact, any sympathy we could have felt for him was crushed by the way he repeatedly and intentionally hurt the person he is supposed to love. It felt like they went out of the way to make him unlikeable.

they showed him ready to walk away from the friendship, so gave him nothing to fear losing and no reason to stay silent

they gave him many opportunities to be honest and communicate

he refused to believe ANYTHING coming out of Ji Hun's mouth

instead of honestly communicating, we got some childish game of "jokingly asking to date" which only made things more messy and confusing

it showed how he managed to hurt both himself and his friend over and over again through his choices

The only way any of this story makes sense is if we weren't supposed to feel sorry for him. It's wasn't the point.

The series seemed to be calling out and showing the dark side of the secret crush/one sided love trope. In this story, it comes across as immature, blind, self inflicted torture that lead to unnecessary pain for everyone involved. They showed us again and again how misunderstandings and assumptions made things worse and hurt people. Unlike Ji Hun's pain, it made a point to show us that Ba Wu's wounds were mostly self inflicted. And the resolution only came about when Ba Wu finally got it through his thick skull that Ji Hun actually did like him.

There could have been a story there about Ba Wu recognizing this friendship was hurting him and no longer healthy, and choosing to prioritize his own needs and setting boundaries even if it meant hurting Ji Hun. It could have been about the exhaustion and hopelessness of a one sided love. And these things were there and we can understand why Ba Wu acted the way he did hurt people hurt people and blah blah blah. But they gave us much more of him being dense, refusing to be honest or communicate at all, and intentionally being cruel for him to be sympathetic. It feels like the whole point was to show that Ba Wu hadn't done himself or anyone else any favors by letting this crush fester into resentment.

There were also other things they didn't do, like an actual love triangle or Ji Hun realizing he was being called a stalker, that makes us think all the repeated scenes of Ba Wu's self inflicted torture were the focus and not filler. Someday we will rewatch it and see how all this lands. But for now, we feel pretty confident that we weren't supposed to like Ba Wu.

Let me be honest.

Carlo's memories, were in someway the biggest reason for P to deny giving Geppetto the P-Organ.

You see, P has a certain understanding of what a father is. Something I believe comes from Carlo's Ergo, but because of him not having access to his memories at the beginning, he didn't know that a parent doesn't always mean it well with you. In some way P is like a toddler at the begining, having a certain instinct for following his parent... But it's the experience that make us realize that general circumstances are not always the right/good ones.

Also, it can't believe I am saying this, in some way. Geppetto was a good father. He praised P, payed attention to what he did and wanted his well being, yeah in the end he only did it for Carlo... BUT it had the same effect as if he had meant it. Kinda sick, he did the right thing for his 'second' child only to fail once more.

Also another thing, for both neutral and good ending... I love how Geppetto mentions 'P got his personality and not his memories', after he denied giving him the organ. You know old man, that personality is also shaved by experience? And what do you expect from a neglected child who wanted your attention? Who wanted attention from the only parent he still has.

Some predictions about Yona

For me the chances that Yona will become queen are quite low.

I don’t really see Yona ending as the queen of Kouka. The crimson dragon king returning to his rightful place? I don’t think that was the story’s point. As we know from her visions, it was her original destiny. She would be the queen of Kouka and I am sure she would be a good one. However, the original future where she is the queen is rather dark. But that was before she changed the future. Now everything will go in a different way. Hak has already escaped his deathbed. On top of that, as she is quite dedicated to save Soo-won’s life, the chances that he will die have lowered significantly. So if he lives, I don’t see any reasonable motive for her to replace him, as she doesn’t want to become queen herself.

Plus, I doubt she would be happy as a queen. Being confined to the palace, small talking with aristocrats and practicing hypocrisy with foreign ambassadors until the end of her days? Her freedom would be lost. It’s just not her role, it’s not who she is. She is a defender that prefers protecting her people on the front lines, with her own hands. And most importantly, she doesn’t want to defend just her own people, but anyone in need. She is not necessarily on Kouka’s side, but mainly on the side of those who seek protection and help.

If the dragon’s soul leaves her body and returns to the heavens, I also see a possibility of her hair changing color to black (like both her parents’), since it’s the crimson dragon’s soul that made it red. It always brought her in trouble, as it attracted unwanted attention and revealed her identity. Were she to be forgotten by everyone, or die and come back to life, a normal hair color would allow her to start a normal human life.

The Gods suffer - Thoughts about Record of Ragnarok and Loki

Thank you @hanaiikiki for uploading this picture. It made me want to share some thoughts.

Looks like he is used to rejection and still can't accept it. He wants to make it work finally, because love has never worked out for him before. It's like he hopes that finding love is the only way for him to feel accepted and wanted. He wants to have someone who he can be himself with. Apparently he is too scared to let his guard down around his friends and it's a general problem for the Gods.

Loki must carry a lot sadness and trauma, that he closed his heart so much. He has friends and still feels lonely, because he can't allow himself to open up to them. He doesn't trust even those who he loves. That's totally unhealthy. Finding love - ONE PERSON - who understands and accepts him must be his only hope to be happy and to heal his heart. He can't count on his friends, because they all have the same problem.

That's how I understand his obsession with Brunhilde. He doesn't want to give up, because it would feel like giving up on love and hope in general.

The Gods suffer. Look at Ares. At least he cried openly. But no one could go to him and simply hug and comfort him. Would it be weakness to do so? Would it put shame on Ares to treat him like someone weak? Maybe both is the case. But the fact is, that Loki really looked like he wanted to hold him tight and show some emotions... and couldn't. He couldn't show some love for his friend. Hermes couldn't comfort his brother. Zeus couldn't. Even after losing two beloved brothers and his adoptive son he couldn't mourn. We didn't see him allowing himself to be sad even in private.

The Gods have some huge problems in their society and we can it compare to toxic masculinity or the facade of aristocrats in our reality. Poor Loki wants to find a way to deal with it. It's no surprise that you can go crazy from that. He is under pressure and there is no escape. No, he has to deal with it by himself, just like the others. And judging from mythology he can do his best and society still doesn't accept him. So playing the role of the clown is the best way to get away with being the outsider. He tries to survive, even if he too proud to admit it to himself.

I remember what Poseidon said about what it means to be a God... I must say that it is a very sad existence. Sasaki was right about that. Sorry, I repeat a lot for sure. This is just my interpretation, also based on my own life experiences.

Pink Diamond/Rose Quartz

An analysis with a bit of theorizing

For those who watched Steven Universe, Rose Quartz and Pink Diamond seemed to be complete opposites in every way. But when we got the reveal of them being the same person it seemed impossible. Learning this from at first admiring Rose to the slowly deconstruction of this perfect being was also very clever yet the shock still never seemed to fade.

Yet the one thing everyone seems to be focused on is if Rose/Pink were right in their actions. So many innocents were harmed, shattered, bubbled, or killed in a war that seemed needless. But what if it was the only option?

From what we are told throughout the show Pink Diamond is trapped in an abusive situation with the other Diamonds. They see her as a child that needs to be placated for shut up entirely. Casting her off to be other gems problems or creating best friends for Pink so she would leave them alone.

But that wasn’t what she wanted. Pink Diamond didn’t want to be cast aside she wanted to have a purpose for her existence, to do something grand like the others. This anger and frustration caused her to lash out against the gems given to her as a distraction or to serve her. Perhaps this is something the other diamonds have done to her when she goes to far in her demands to be treated equally and she just replicated it against those she could. It is inexcusable and the damage still affects the gems still around that served Pink Diamond like Pink Pearl and Spinel. We probably won’t ever know the full extent of the Diamond’s actions against Pink Diamond and the domino effect agaisnt other gems but from what little we do know it was inexcusably

However, their actions kept Pink Diamond naive. She didn’t realize what the other Diamonds were doing to the other planets until she got one of her own. When she disguised herself as Rose Quartz she got to explore the planet she owned her way with what she thought was her own authority. Seeing the effect the Kindergartens had on the planet and listening to stories from other gems may have been what caused her to change for the better. When the other Diamonds wouldn’t listen and gave her the human zoo to placate her again it must have been the breaking point.

This would lead to the rebellion. Perhaps it was stared to get the others to change their minds at first. If they wouldn’t listen to her then she would force them to listen to someone who fights back. Rose Quartz became a persona where she could act and say what she had been saying for centuries but no one listened. But I don’t think Rose/Pink meant for it to get out of hand to the degree that it did. It started out with just her and Pearl but when they met Garnet and so many other gems who believed in her and trusted her not because she was a Diamond but for what she thought it became much more that just her voicing her thoughts. But by the point she realized how far the other Diamonds would go to stay in the right, it was too late.

Her only option left was to leave as Pink Diamond and allow earth to be destroyed or to stay as Rose Quartz. But she couldn’t live as both without someone becoming suspicious, hence the fake shattering.

But sometimes I wonder if she ever had the intention of righting any of the wrongs she had committed against others. She had proven before she would never reveal her true identity to the other Crystal Gems. However, if she never fell for Greg would the events that take place in the show force her to confront her past or if she would continue to be Rose Quartz until the truth is revealed?

Pink Diamond and Rose Quartz are far from perfect. There are many things they never resolved that was left to Steven. But their reasoning while flawed is understandable to a certain extent.

If the show ever gets the chance I would love for a series to show Pink Diamond’s past and her time as Rose Quartz. While I know this would take away from the way we learned about Rose and her true identity I think it would be fascinating to see how everything happened and Pink Diamond/Rose’s thoughts and feelings so the fandom can understand her better.

2.6 patch "The End of the World" and theories about it

listen to me, my sleuths!

knowing Bluepoch, giving story titles after releasing trailers in CN for their next patch is now a usual thing but what should we expect in this seemingly innocent patch?

well for starters, this could mean our friends will be in Antarctica since it is the literal "end of the world" or the title can suggest a world ending scenario or in worse cases, a death of a beloved character

some people's thoughts jump to someone dying (specifically Sonetto 🥺) to give flare to the story or just to make a point but for me? it might just be about them exploring Antarctica or something

killing a main character (Sonetto or whoever the fuck it is) can happen but for now, it's all just theories and speculations...

we'll wait until they actually show us peeks for that and I'm sure to be here to talk about it

We got a pretty cute Fiona chapter today, and something about her apartment caught my eye!

We can see she has some flowers on display, both in her bedroom window and by the front entrance. That in and of itself isn't unusual, but the one by the window stuck out to me.

Unlike the full bouquet at the entrance, the window flowers are barely a handful. They're also placed in a plain cup rather than a proper vase, making it feel much less like an intentional setup and more like something that was put there at random. Why go through the effort - especially in her sleeping area where no one else is likely to see it?

All in all, the stray flowers seems like something she received at random from someone else, rather than purposefully gathering it herself.

Twilight noted in this chapter that Nightfall must be recovering from the mole incident, and run ragged from resuming regular spy duties. We know she's been visiting Franky for work purposes between then and now - seemingly pretty often too, if his deflated 'you again' response to her presence is anything to go by.

Franky is also known to have flowers handy for all kinds of occasions. Silly pranks, failed dates...

He may even be aware that Fiona is sick - he is an information broker after all. And so...

Maybe he gave her some flowers that were on hand as a get-well gift.

Maybe kind of sourly though, because he just got shot down for the nth time and they're just gonna be thrown out anyways so she may as well take 'em, alright!?

And in her fever-hazed state, Nightfall accepts.

The plain cup, the odd placement - this isn't Fiona Frost adding to her interior decoration, but Nightfall sparing a lonely flower from the garbage can.

So Royal Prep is teaching royals sorcery. Specifically how to transform mundane things into precious gems...

Yet while this is happening the common folk seem to think only certain people can perform magic, and are taught science instead, something the royals aren't explicitly taught.

Not only that, but it seems the sorcery school has a long running rivalry with Royal Prep.

So like... Are the Fairies and Royals trying to push out the idea of Royal Sorcerers?

Teaching the royal heirs magic to turn rocks into wealth, getting rid of royal sorcerers, and keeping the common folk ignorant of how magic works, would make the the royals and their bloodlines incredibly more powerful.

I the episode where Miss Nettle is "Sasha the sorceress" all the things she conjured and transformed were fake, but even the imagery and implication of all the wealth the transfigured rocks gives would still feed into the power they're projecting.

Look, I know it's incredibly unlikely, and they just wanted to incorporate some fun magical moments into the show, but the way they went about doing it makes the it all a little suspicious.

Victorian era AU

So, we can't delay any more! I have accumulated concepts and sketches on Victorian AU and I am ready to share them with you!!! YAY!!! FANFARE!!!

Let's start with the fairy flower crowns.

So, I thought it would be fun if there were flowers with meaning in the flower crown, and not just beautiful ones. And of course, there is more than one type of flower in the flower crown. To determine which flowers can be in the flower crown of Cosmo and Wanda, I used the "Language of flowers". The picture is signed with flowers and their meaning so that everything is clear.

I must say right away, yes, it's not that important, it's just a small detail, so if you are a person who wants to draw on the topic of this au, don't worry, it's not necessary to understand colors. Draw flower crowns as your heart desires.

Oh and hey! Look, I drew Jorgen in this Au

Of course, since he is also a fairy, he is just as sparkling shiny and with wings. And of course he cannot be left without a flower crown, but it is woven into his helmet. It seemed like a good idea to give him a Roman helmet. It suits him, because he is all so military, belligerent and definitely has some kind of dominant and protective role in this au. It's still in development, but I'll definitely think through this part more. Well, his wings are the wings of a large beetle, these wings suit him, it would be strange if he had butterfly wings like in the designs of Cosmo and Wanda, so yes, all fairies have insect wings suitable for them.

A little bit about Vicki

So, let's take it in order, otherwise I'm afraid that I'll get confused in my thoughts lol.

There is a manufactory/factory that is definitely owned by Doug Dimmadom (who else?). Child labor is used in this factory, because, well, have you seen children? Have you seen their little nimble hands? They are excellent workers to work with small details! So, Vicky, who is in charge of these poor children, also works there. She probably rose to this position, but it would be funny if her little one was noticed initially as a commander over the children lol.

What else about the Dimmadom family is there in AU? Well, actually not much. Doug is still a tycoon who owns a bunch of businesses, and Dale is probably also kidnapped by Vicky here. Why would she kidnap children for the sake of child labor if she is already in charge of children at work? Well, obviously, more money and power for a woman in this difficult era. We have not considered this in more detail yet

Other things

My dear co-author (@usagifuyusummer) also has good ideas for the storyline of this au! I think I can't reveal all these ideas, because well, work on them is still underway, but I can tell you a little about them.

There is already a pretty detailed idea of how Timmy got to know the fairies, and then got to know Cosmo and Wanda specifically (the first sketch). I don't want to reveal how it all happened yet, but after one situation Cosmo and Wanda followed Timmy everywhere in an attempt to help him (well, or have fun, we already know what kind of fairies they are) and after a long time when unexplained phenomena occurred, Timmy accidentally discovers these two fairies (yes, unsuccessfully falling into the bushes, with who does not happen)

Well, the second sketch as a reference to the work of the Urusami, lol. This art is gorgeous, if you haven't seen it, take a look. Personally, I was delighted with this picture!
